We pulled it off!

My mom’s surprise party was a success (with a few minor changes) . . . she was totally surprised and loved every minute!  In her words, “it was my kind of party.”  My dad, on the other hand, would invite everyone and their dog, but mom loves to be surrounded by her family for special celebrations.  I think that everyone had a good time.  My family is the best, in my opinion, for many reasons.  First of all, they are normally game for anything (check out Andra’s website ranchinstyle.wordpress.com for more info.), they are fun, and they help each other out while truly enjoying each other.  I am so thankful for everyone helping Andra and me cook, clean up, and saddle up!

The party lasted the whole weekend and some were able to stay until Tuesday.  We saw coyotes, rabbits, a mountain lion, a rattlesnake, and of course, cows.  Everyone had a chance to ride horses, help brand some late calves, rope, shoot guns, see Indian petroglyphs, play games, and do some late night spotlighting.  All in all, I had a blast and hope our family can plan to do this again next year along with those who weren’t able to come this time!   Here are some pictures of the fun!
